Goodbye to Sagada after staying 2 nights and I have to push my bike up the 200m steep slope to the town hall ,then it was rolling down back to Dantay Junction to merge with the Halsema Highway, the terrain continues to follow the river to a big town Bontoc.Surprised to see a bike shop and bought a spare 26"inner tube ( 200php) where I had a flat earlier, not due to puncture by any sort but purely on worn out at the side of the tube. After Bontoc, there was a gentle climb and followed by a short downhill to Talubin Junction.Weather was sunny hot so rested here for a bottle of energy drink(30php) and a can of sardin(27php) for tonight dinner. The long big climb started immediately and I was on my lowest gear and speed most of the time, but still managable,a group of male locals saw me and waved to ask me to join them,so I pulled over and found they are playing cards and at the same time one of them was preparing lunch, they offered me a plate of rice and some meats,as I was hungry then so why not, and I too contributed with my sardin. It was a delicious lunch as I felt much better after that. Before I say goodbye I just realised that it was a dog meat ,a mountain wild dog which the locals like to hunt and eat.I'm sorry if I have offended those dog lovers. For clarification,I  am not a dog eater. The terrain continues on the upward trend and the sigh shown is 34km to Banaue.I don't think I will make it as I am not sure how many km is up and how many is down,I am using Maps.me on my mobile to track but the distance is incorrect and also not showing the altitude. At about 2pm I came to Bay Yo rice terraces with a circular gazebo view point with a spectacular view at the Igorot village and the rice fields. There is a paid toilet manned by an elderly Igorot aged 67,got a permission from him to set my tent, and he even offered not to lock the toilet door for my convenience at no cost.
